We believe every person is on a spiritual journey, and wherever you’re at on yours, you’re welcome at Three Creeks Church. We’re a church full of ordinary people discovering how much God really loves us. ![Families sitting in camp chairs among the trees at an outdoor Three Creeks gathering.](https://threecreekschurch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/about-outdoor-gathering.jpg) _What we’re about_ ### Four values, no fine print - **Truth** — We believe the Bible is true, and we live our lives by it. - **Gather** — We gather on Sundays and in small groups, because we grow best in groups. - **Serve** — We serve people both in our local community and around the world. - **Love** — Whoever you are, you’re welcome at Three Creeks Church. ![People standing around talking outside the building after a Sunday service.](https://threecreekschurch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/about-after-service.jpg) _Our mission_ ### Helping people find and follow God. It’s on the homepage, it’s here, it’s in every decision we make. _Our story_ ### A church plant with planting in its DNA Three Creeks didn’t appear out of nowhere. We were planted — and we’re already planting. - **2012 — Movement Church launches** — In Hilliard, Ohio — with a vision that already included planting more churches. - **2016 — The Trainers join Movement** — Joel and Morgan Trainer begin preparing to plant the next church. - **2017 — Moving to Gahanna** — The Trainers and several families relocate, meet people, and serve the community. - **Fall 2017 — The Launch Team gathers** — Living rooms, whiteboards, and a lot of prayer. - **Feb 18 2018 — Three Creeks officially launches** — First public Sunday gathering. - **2020 — COVID, online, and a plant** — Hybrid groups and online ministry — and in the middle of it, Three Creeks helps plant Contrast Church in Grandview. - **2021 — Relaunching Three Creeks** — We started gathering again in Gahanna Middle School West on Easter Sunday 2021. - **2024 — The Well** — We bought and flipped The Well, our community space, to show our city we’re here to stay. - **2025 — Planting Bright City Church** — Three Creeks sends people and resources to start a new church in Sunbury, OH. - **2021–26 — Growth, baptisms, salvation** — We’ve seen God do incredible things. - **2026 — Hiring a Resident** — Jon McClelland has joined our team and is gathering a team to start a new church in 2028. _Since 2018_ **Gahanna, Ohio** Planted by Movement Church, Hilliard. Part of the Charis Fellowship. Come hear it in person — the This Is Us lunch happens every couple of months. Check the calendar. _Go deeper_ - **What we believe** — The full statement — In a world where it seems like everything is changing, our beliefs are not. - **Our leaders** — Staff, directors, elders — The people responsible for what Three Creeks teaches and where it’s headed. - **Church planting** — Churches planting churches — The family tree we’re part of, and the residency for people who want to plant next. - **Impact** — Local and global — If we left Gahanna, we’d want Gahanna to miss us. Here’s what that looks like. --- # Beliefs — Three Creeks Church > Source: https://threecreekschurch.com/beliefs/ > What Three Creeks Church believes, with the scripture behind each conviction. _What we believe_ ### Casual about a lot. Not about this. We wear shorts to church and occasionally play games mid-service — but on doctrine we don’t wing it. Here’s the whole statement, references included. ![The congregation singing during a Sunday gathering.](https://threecreekschurch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/worship-gathering.jpg) - **Scripture** — We believe the Bible is true. The 66 books of the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God and without error as originally given. - **God** — We believe in the one true God, who eternally exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. - **Jesus** — We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ — his preexistence and deity, virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary death, bodily resurrection, ascension, present ministry, and future return. - **Holy Spirit** — The Holy Spirit is divine and active in believers — indwelling, filling, and empowering the Christian life and service. - **Humanity** — Human beings were created in God’s image. Humanity’s fall into sin creates the need for spiritual rebirth. - **Salvation** — Jesus is the only way to salvation. Salvation is God’s gift by grace, received through personal faith in Jesus Christ and his completed work. - **Church** — The church exists to glorify God through worship, building up believers, and worldwide gospel witness. - **Christian life** — Following Christ is the best possible life. We emphasize prayer, righteousness, reconciliation, truthfulness, and the fruit of the Spirit. - **Ordinances** — We practice believer baptism by triune immersion, and a threefold communion — the bread and cup, the love feast, and the washing of feet. - **Satan** — Satan is a real adversary — and his ultimate defeat is certain. - **The return of Christ** — We look for the personal, visible return of Jesus, within a premillennial, pretribulational framework. - **Eternity** — We believe in bodily resurrection and judgment — eternal life for the saved, eternal punishment for the lost. _Questions welcome_ **Wrestle with it** You don’t have to sign off on all of this to visit. Come with your questions — we like them. Three Creeks is part of the Charis Fellowship, a family of churches sharing this confession. ### We believe the Bible is true, and we live our lives by it. --- # Christmas Eve Eve 2025 — Three Creeks Church > Source: https://threecreekschurch.com/christmas/ --- # Church Planting — Three Creeks Church > Source: https://threecreekschurch.com/church-planting/ > The family tree Three Creeks belongs to, and the residency for people who want to plant next. _Church planting_ ### Churches planting churches that plant churches. We believe planting churches is the most effective way to reach people who are far from God. We were planted. We’ve planted. We’re not done. **Launch Sunday · Feb 18, 2018** Mark Atrip of Movement Church prays over Joel and Morgan Trainer as Movement Church sends them out to launch Three Creeks Church. ![The launch team being commissioned on the first Sunday.](https://threecreekschurch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/planting-commissioning.jpg) _The family tree_ ### A legacy of church planting Our church was launched in 2018 by Movement Church in Hilliard, OH. Our vision is to be a movement of churches that plant churches, that plant churches and so on. - **Movement Church** — Hilliard, Ohio · 2012 - **Three Creeks Church** — Gahanna, Ohio · 2018 - **Contrast Church** — Grandview, Ohio · 2020 - **Bright City Church** — Sunbury, Ohio · 2024 To learn more about the Movement Churches Network and other opportunities, visit their site. _The residency_ ### Think you might be a church planter? Three Creeks prepares future planters through a Church Planting Residency — real ministry, real coaching, and a front-row seat to how a young church actually runs, before you launch your own. - **Learn it inside a working church** — Not planting in theory. You’re here on Sundays and in the meetings during the week, while the church is still young enough to watch it work. - **Launch with a family behind you** — Nobody on the tree above went out alone. Every one of those churches launched with people, prayer and support from the one before it. [Explore the Residency](mailto:info@threecreekschurch.com?subject=Residency) _The math_ **1 → 4** One church in Hilliard became four churches across central Ohio in twelve years. Multiplication beats addition. Part of the Movement Churches network and the Charis Fellowship. ### Our plan to make heaven more crowded is to plant new life-giving churches in new places. --- # Coming Up — Three Creeks Church > Source: https://threecreekschurch.com/coming-up/ > Everything on the Three Creeks calendar, in one list — and only what’s still ahead. _Coming up_ ### Get in on what’s next. [Make an Impact](mailto:info@threecreekschurch.com?subject=Serving) _What that looks like_ ### The work, specifically. Our local and global impact ministries are fueled and propelled primarily by volunteers from our church. - **Families in crisis, moving toward stability** — We partner with My Village Ministries to support local families walking through a crisis — practical help, real relationships, and a path back to stable ground. - **Christmas, for two dollars** — One day each December, local parents in need shop brand-new donated toys for $2 apiece — parents shopping for their own kids, dignity intact. Every dollar collected goes back to Gahanna schools. - **300+** — families served every year - **2,000+** — Christmas toys distributed every year - **$3,000+** — back to Gahanna schools every year - **The same value, a longer flight** — Serving people isn’t a Gahanna-only value — we support gospel work and partners around the world through our Global Impact team. - **Every one of these runs on regular people** — A Saturday here, a Tuesday evening there. Not sure where you’d fit? Say that — matching people to ministries is literally someone’s job here. ### We serve people in our community and around the world. _Home base_ - **More than a Sunday. Meet The Well.** — A space in the heart of Gahanna created to serve our city, build community, and help people find and follow God. Church meetings, prayer gatherings, kids events — and the occasional block party out back. - **Fund the work** — Where giving goes — Generosity is what keeps us going as we try and serve our local community. Teaching starts from the text, not from assumptions about you. - **Will you ask me for money?** — Giving is something our church family does. As our guest, please don’t feel any pressure. - **What if I’m not sure what I believe?** — Perfect. Three Creeks is a church for people trying to find God, not just people who already have. Come explore at your own pace. _Sundays_ **9:00 & 10:45 AM** There’s plenty of parking, and we’ll have some people to greet you at the door.
